In this digital course, you’ll follow four women who struggle with binge eating as they are coached in a group setting over four weeks. The coaches, Dr. Amy Johnson and Maria Brigantino, will support the women as they come to see themselves and their habits in a radically new way.

Amy and Maria will also debrief each group coaching session (without the participants present), pulling out key themes and things to take note of from each session.

Amy & Maria share information about how the four participants were chosen, their philosophy around helping people find freedom from binge eating, and their expectations for the four weeks with the group. They leave you with some things to notice and listen for as you watch the coaching sessions unfold.

Session #1 Video 2 – Session #1
In our first session, the women introduce themselves and share their experience with binge eating, and what freedom would look like to them. Amy and Maria discuss their experiences with binge eating in the past as well, and they discuss how everyone on earth is habit-free by nature, and how our habits are built upon a very simple misunderstanding.

Session #2 Video 4 – Session #2
In session #2, Amy and Maria discuss feelings, and how life will always be full of very safe, very natural ups and downs. We explore the universal nature of the human experience and how we can always relax into our experience–there is far less to do than it appears.

Session #3 Video 6 – Session #3
In our third session, the women are recognizing things that used to look absolutely true and solid as thought; things like “I’m happier when I’m thin”. In the context of their questions, we explore the true source of happiness and security, how life is a game, how there is no such thing as a “setback”, secrecy, and shame.

Session #4 Video 8 – Session #4
By our fourth session, so much is changing for the women! It’s incredible how their minds have quieted in just four weeks. They are noticing habitual thought (calling it “shenanigans”) but they are far less caught up in it than they once were. In this session, we explore the freedom in “I don’t know”. Each one of them can see how “not knowing” is leading them toward freedom from their habit.

Four-Week Follow-up Video 10 – Four-Week Follow-up
Four weeks after our last group coaching session, we meet again for a 90-minute follow-up. The women give updates on how the past month has gone for them since the course ended.

About Maria

Maria Brigantino is a Certified Change Coach for high-achieving women who want to stop white-knuckling their way through drastic diets and gain FREEDOM from food, and obsessive thinking around weight and body image. She has a Masters in Organizational Leadership and over 15 years of municipal, health care management, and consulting experience.

Maria’s coaching programs are rooted in the principles of the human experience and her own experience of gaining FREEDOM from binge eating. Originally from Italy, Maria now lives in Fonthill, Ontario, with her hubby, two step-children, fur babies, and too many shoes. Find out more at m-path.ca.

Yes, absolutely. The coaching that happens in this course goes far beyond the specific behaviors one might engage in. It points to what is behind all thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, so it applies to all people and all habits.

If you are binge eating, overeating, restricting, or overthinking food or weight in any way, this course will be extremely relatable and helpful to you.
