Freedom From Intrusive Thoughts

A NO-WILLPOWER APPROACH TO PEACE OF MIND

Freedom from Intrusive Thoughts by Amy Johnson

In this digital course, you’ll follow four women who struggle with intrusive thoughts as they are coached in a group setting over four weeks.

Dr. Amy Johnson supports the group as they come to see themselves and their intrusive thoughts and anxious feelings in a radically new way.

Amy will also debrief each group coaching session (without the participants present), pulling out key themes and things to take note of from each session.

If you are struggling with anxiety or intrusive thoughts yourself, watching other people being coached through their experience is an incredible way to see more of yourself. I know you’ll come to see your own thoughts very differently as you follow the journey of these four amazing women.

What’s Inside Freedom From Intrusive Thoughts:

Video 1 - Introduction Video 1 – Introduction
Dr. Amy shares information about how the four participants were chosen, her philosophy around helping people find freedom from intrusive thoughts and anxiety, and her expectations for the four weeks with the group. Amy will leave you with some things to notice and listen for as you watch the coaching sessions unfold.

Video 2 - Session #1 Video 2 – Session #1
In our first session, the women introduce themselves and share their experience with intrusive thoughts and anxiety. Right away, they recognize themselves in each other and begin to realize in a deeper way that their thoughts aren’t personal. They talk about sticky, looping thoughts and hypervigilance. Amy explores how anxious feelings always show us one thing–that we are believing a lie.

Video 3 - Session #1 Discussion Video 3 – Session #1 Discussion
Amy shares her observations and comments on the first group session.

Video 4 - Session #2 Video 4 – Session #2
All of the participants are feeling less anxiety by session #2, so much so that two of them begin coaching the other two. They can see intrusive thoughts as safe and fleeting for others, but less so for themselves. Amy discusses the constant shifts in consciousness that are always happening, where nothing changes but everything feels different.

Video 5 - Session #2 Discussion Video 5 – Session #2 Discussion
Amy shares her observations and comments on the second group session.

Video 6 - Session #3 Video 6 – Session #3
By our third session, a big shift has happened for all participants, albeit bigger for some than others. They talk about how their intrusive thoughts and anxiety have gone from “gripping panic” to “irritation”. This is common and indicative of a much quieter mind.

Video 7 - Session #3 Discussion Video 7 – Session #3 Discussion
Amy shares her observations and comments on the third group session.

Video 8 - Session #4 Video 8 – Session #4
By our fourth session, it’s clear that so much has changed for all four participants. They all have much quieter minds and from this place, they share a lot of insight into thought as a universal process, rather than a personal thing that’s about them or their lives in some way. We continue our exploration from Session #3 into what we’re really afraid of.

Video 9 - Session #4 Discussion Video 9 – Session #4 Discussion
Amy shares her observations and comments on the fourth group session.

Video 10 - Four-Week Follow-up Video 10 – Four-Week Follow-up
Four weeks after our last group coaching session, we meet again for a 90-minute follow-up. The participants give updates on how the past month has gone for them since the course ended.

Amy shares her observations and comments on the four-week follow-up session, as well as some closing remarks and how you can get more support.

Jennifer

“I was crippled with anxiety and very scared, struggling to take care of my daughter and struggling to take care of myself. It was a very difficult time in my life.

After Amy’s support, I became overwhelmed with joy, peace, love and gratitude for her helping me find my way. She instilled such a strong knowing within me that everything is always okay no matter what, and that what I think and what crosses my mind is normal.”
