In this digital course, you’ll follow four women who struggle with binge eating as they are coached in a group setting over four weeks. The coaches, Dr. Amy Johnson and Maria Brigantino, will support the women as they come to see themselves and their habits in a radically new way.

Amy and Maria will also debrief each group coaching session (without the participants present), pulling out key themes and things to take note of from each session.

If you are struggling with binge eating, watching others being coached through their experience is an incredible way for you to have insights into how your own habit is playing out. We know you’ll come to see your habit very differently as you follow the journey of these four amazing women.

You’ll See More About:

What all people–and all habits–have in common. You’ll see more about why and how this habit starts and what you can realize to become free of it.

How binge eating is a sign of your health. It has nothing to do with food or weight; it’s your best attempt to feel like yourself.

Specific issues that often come up around binge eating such as dealing with guilt, handling “urges”, labeling and judging, making everyday food choices, restricting and compensating for binges, etc.

The simple misunderstandings that underlie this habit, and the truth beyond those misunderstandings.

And much, much more

Freedom From Binge Eating
Is Perfect for You If:

You’re struggling with binge eating or other food-related habits

You’ve tried several things to shift your own food or weight-related habits and nothing has helped.

You are, or would like to be, a coach who supports others through habits like binge eating, and you want to see more about how Dr. Amy and Maria work with people from the no-willpower approach.

What’s Inside Freedom From Binge Eating:

Video 1 – Introduction
Amy & Maria share information about how the four participants were chosen, their philosophy around helping people find freedom from binge eating, and their expectations for the four weeks with the group. They leave you with some things to notice and listen for as you watch the coaching sessions unfold.

Video 2 – Session #1
In our first session, the women introduce themselves and share their experience with binge eating, and what freedom would look like to them. Amy and Maria discuss their experiences with binge eating in the past as well, and they discuss how everyone on earth is habit-free by nature, and how our habits are built upon a very simple misunderstanding.

Video 3 – Session #1 Discussion
Amy and Maria share their observations and comments on the first group session.

Video 4 – Session #2
In session #2, Amy and Maria discuss feelings, and how life will always be full of very safe, very natural ups and downs. We explore the universal nature of the human experience and how we can always relax into our experience–there is far less to do than it appears.

Video 5 – Session #2 Discussion
Amy and Maria share their observations and comments on the second group session.

Video 6 – Session #3
In our third session, the women are recognizing things that used to look absolutely true and solid as thought; things like “I’m happier when I’m thin”. In the context of their questions, we explore the true source of happiness and security, how life is a game, how there is no such thing as a “setback”, secrecy, and shame.

Video 7 – Session #3 Discussion
Amy and Maria share their observations and comments on the third group session.

Video 8 – Session #4
By our fourth session, so much is changing for the women! It’s incredible how their minds have quieted in just four weeks. They are noticing habitual thought (calling it “shenanigans”) but they are far less caught up in it than they once were. In this session, we explore the freedom in “I don’t know”. Each one of them can see how “not knowing” is leading them toward freedom from their habit.

Video 9 – Session #4 Discussion
Amy and Maria share their observations and comments on the fourth group session.

Video 10 – Four-Week Follow-up
Four weeks after our last group coaching session, we meet again for a 90-minute follow-up. The women give updates on how the past month has gone for them since the course ended.

Video 11 – Follow-up Discussion
Amy and Maria share their observations and comments on the four-week follow-up session, as well as some closing remarks and how you can get more support from Amy and Maria.

Lexi

“I had tried everything under the sun from behavioral therapy, to tapping, to treatment centers, etc. to try and change my brain and my binge eating habit. However, I could never find freedom. I felt broken, and I was so scared that I was going to have to live with this forever.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Amy Johnson and her work. For the first time in my life, I saw something different and I could sense that there was more to life than this obsession with food. I have a sense of truth and peace within myself that I did not see until participating in her school. I know now that I am wellness; I am not broken.”
