What are the most important things to see in order to have lasting freedom from habits, anxiety, and suffering?
That question was my guide as I created the curriculum for The Little School of Big Change in the winter of 2017.
When the very first LSBC class launched in June of 2017, people loved it. In a time of short weekly podcasts and 10-minute videos, something about being guided through a collection of lessons that build upon one another was different and deeply impactful.
In the 3 years since that very first LSBC class, the basic truths haven’t changed. Resilience, peace, and unalterable health are still your default state. Your psychological experience is still safe, impersonal, and nothing you need to fix or manage. Clearing up these simple misunderstandings changes everything, still.
While nothing has changed, everything looks a little bit different to me.
It looks clearer and simpler. I have learned so much from my students and have seen so much change in people over the past 3 years, which leaves me with far more hope and conviction around these simple ideas.
So, after an amazing 3-year run with The Little School of Big Change version 1.0 curriculum, it’s time for The Little School of Big Change version 2.0. and I want you to be part of it!
Just like attending a live taping off your favorite television show, I will be re-recording the entire LSBC curriculum in front of a live and live-streamed audience.
Over a day and a half, in an intimate, small group setting in the Los Angeles area, we’ll start from the beginning with this question:
What if the only thing creating all suffering is an innocent misunderstanding of who you are and how you work?
- The way our conditioned, habitual experience works
- The space beyond our conditioned, habitual experience
- The fundamental misunderstandings behind all suffering
- How deep, lasting (versus shallow, short-term) change happens
- Why the human brain is so habit prone (and why that does not mean you are destined to live with unwanted habits or worry!)
- The role of feelings; learning to read our own personal check engine light
- The perfection and wisdom in habits, anxiety, and depression. How these are signs of our health.
- How life is constantly in flux. Nothing we think or experience is stable or fixed, and we have endless do-overs.
- The way that life lives us
- A new paradigm for mental health
- How things begin to look and feel when these simple misunderstandings are cleared up
The event will be a combination of teaching, discussion, coaching and questions.
