The two S’s: Suffering and Stuck.
When you feel either, there is an excellent chance that you are holding on to something you think is best for you, but it’s not.
That dream you say is yours (the career you grew up knowing you’d choose, the hobbies and lifestyle you think you’re supposed to have)…it’s not really your dream. At least not right now, right here, in this way.
That lifeline you’re clutching (the relationship you’re trying to make work, the income and security you say you need) is not actually saving you. It’s holding you back.
If the beliefs, dreams, or ideas you’re clutching were yours for the taking, they would feel like home. They wouldn’t necessarily feel easy or be without obstacle, but they wouldn’t feel like forcing something to fit that doesn’t. They’d feel authentically you.
“We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”— Joseph Campbell
