Neglect of me, the one with the big problem, and neglect of the problem itself.
How do we neglect something that feels so solid and important? See it clearly.
It’s like an impressionist painting. From a few feet back, the mind conceptualizes it as a pond with water lilies. But move closer and closer and really look, and it’s not water lilies at all.
It’s the same with problems, habits, worries, illnesses. We’re looking at an abstracted, conceptualized view of “my problem” and trying like crazy to fix it. But you can’t fix a concept.
Look more closely and immediately to see that it’s already changing.
