Your brain is a fancy computer, always making predictions in order to keep you physically alive.
To support its prediction making, it makes up causal models to try to explain how life works. If this, then that. If x, then y.
Which is fine, except those causal models aren’t accurate. And we often take them as truth.
In this episode, you’ll see how “But I did all the right things!” is one of the many battle cries that shows you that your brain made up an If this, then that formula that you may be buying into as true and accurate.
I’ll share examples of how my brain, and other brains, have created these causal formulas based on nothing but guesses from the past. The more we see that this is happening, the less we’re at the mercy of it.

Hi Amy,
Love your work! Listen to your wonderful podcasts often and the one about ‘this then that’ has just blown my mind open wide!
Is there a course you offer that trains people to coach or is it more about personal development as opposed to that plus the potential to become a change coach?
Thanks, Kate
