EP241: A coaching session on feeling stuck and avoiding life

Ken says he has an avoidance problem. He feels stuck avoiding projects, work, and life in general.

He talks about how much easier (albeit still painful) it is to watch YouTube than it is to do the things he knows he wants to do. He knows his mind is trying to protect him, but he still feels controlled by it.

Ken and I explore the possibility that none of what his mind is doing can actually stop him from acting. He only thinks it can. We looked at many of the specific things that arise that appear to derail him.

I encourage Ken to go right into the feeling that appears to stop him. Be curious about it. Invite it in. Maybe even be playful with it. On the other side of that feeling is Ken behaving freely, doing exactly as much or as little as he wants to do.
