EP247: What am I missing in my understanding? A question from a listener

A listener recently wrote to me and shared that she sees that her longtime intrusive thoughts were never “hers”, they were never true, and they couldn’t hurt her.

However, she’s still feeling some physical and emotional reactivity to those thoughts. Does this mean she still believes the thoughts on some level?

She wants to know why this would be happening. Is she missing something?

This question is incredibly common. If I see xyz, why am I still feeling xyz?

It’s much simpler than it seems.
