Shhh…
Be quiet. Find a right-now moment. Now. This one.
What’s happening right now? What’s happening before thought?
Before the narrator jumps up and starts narrating this right-now moment, what’s actually happening?
Anything?
Nothing?
That’s what I find too. Before thought, in right-now, nothing is happening.
The narrator in your head is the source of “things happening”. It tells a story about how life is playing out, what it smells, sounds and tastes like, and what it all has to do with you. That story is creating an experience that you call “what’s happening”.
So, “what’s happening” is made of language and ideas and images. It’s subjective and personal and fluctuates widely by mood and storyteller.
Life is living you and layered on top is a made up story about what’s happening.
