Another Place to Look

Dr. Amy Johnson Everything about our psychological experience is temporary, in motion, and relatively superficial. We feel impacted by it, no question. But the impact we feel is the moving, changing energy taking form as thoughts and feelings. It’s our psychology, our human weather. Those weather patterns move through us, we feel them, and then they’re promptly replaced by new human weather.

It only feels personal and long-lasting because we’re so tuned in to it, identifying with it as if it’s who-we-are. We don’t see another place to look. This is why clearing up this misunderstanding naturally leaves us less identified with our experience. When we see it for what it is, it loses its grip.
